Connecting Anthropic

What you need

An Admin API Key. Anthropic has two key types, and this isn't the regular one. Regular API keys are for making calls to Claude and can't read usage data. Only an Admin API Key can.

Step 1: Get your Admin API Key from Anthropic

1. Go to Anthropic's Console, Admin Keys.
2. Click Create Admin Key.
3. Give it a name you'll recognize later. "TokenFront" is fine.
4. Copy the key immediately. It's only shown once.

Step 2: Add it to TokenFront

1. Open Connect Anthropic in TokenFront.
2. Paste the key into the Admin API key field.
3. Save.

The first sync takes 30–90 seconds while it imports up to a year of history. After that, it checks in periodically on its own and each update only takes a few seconds.

If the connection shows "Key Error"

Check that the key came from the Admin Keys page above, not a regular API key from elsewhere in the Console. Edit the connection in TokenFront and paste in a fresh Admin API Key.
