Troubleshooting

Answers to the questions that come up most.

Why don't I see our ChatGPT/Claude subscription or seat costs anywhere?

Because TokenFront can't get at that data. It tracks metered, pay-as-you-go API usage, the kind of spend tied to a usage-based key. Flat-rate subscription and per-seat products (a ChatGPT Plus/Team/Enterprise seat, a Claude Pro/Team seat, or similar) aren't exposed by any provider through an API, so there's nothing programmatic for TokenFront to connect to for that side of your bill. This isn't a missing setting to turn on, it isn't tracked today. If that changes on a provider's end, we'll revisit it.

A platform shows "Key Error"

The credential TokenFront has on file for that platform isn't working. The usual causes: the key was revoked or expired on the provider's side, or it's the wrong type of key (a regular API key instead of an admin/management key, see the setup guide for your specific platform under Connecting platforms). Edit the connection and paste in a fresh key.

Today's OpenRouter spend is missing or looks wrong

This is expected, not a bug. OpenRouter only finalizes model and API-key-level detail once a day is fully over (UTC time). See Connecting OpenRouter for the full explanation. Today's number will fill in with proper detail after midnight UTC.

A sync is taking a while

The first sync after connecting a platform imports a full year of history (30 days for OpenRouter), so 30–90 seconds is normal. Every sync after that only needs to pick up what's new, and finishes in a few seconds. If a first sync has been running for several minutes with no change, try a manual sync from the platform's card. If it still doesn't complete, the connection's credential is worth double-checking.

I got an anomaly alert and I don't think anything's actually wrong

That's what Acknowledge and Snooze are for: mark it as seen without treating it as an ongoing problem. If a particular detector fires on things that are normal for how your team works, it's worth dialing back its sensitivity (or switching monitoring profile) rather than dismissing the same kind of alert over and over. See Monitoring profiles & rules.

An anomaly disappeared on its own

Anomalies that haven't been acted on clear automatically after 48 hours. That's intentional, so alerts don't pile up indefinitely if nobody gets to them.

The numbers on the dashboard don't match what I expect

Check the date range at the top of the dashboard first. Every widget reads from the same selected period, and it's easy to be looking at "Last Month" when you meant "Month to Date." If the range looks right and something still seems off, the Reports page will show you the underlying records that make up the total.

My dashboard layout looks different than I left it

Your layout is saved to your account, so it should follow you across devices once you're logged in, but changes only sync once you either navigate away normally or use the explicit Save Layout button. If you want to start clean, Reset on the dashboard puts you back to the default widget set.

I don't see a platform I use in the list

TokenFront only connects to platforms that offer a way to pull usage and cost data programmatically. If yours isn't listed under Connecting platforms, that provider likely doesn't support it yet rather than it being an oversight on our end.

I can't invite anyone to my team

Free accounts are capped at 1 member total, so there's no room to invite anyone else on Free — upgrading to Pro or Business unlocks unlimited team members. If you're already on a paid plan and still can't invite, check that you're the Owner: only the Owner can send invites, see Team members.

Invites are good for 7 days. If it's been longer than that, or the link has already been clicked and accepted once, ask whoever invited you to send a fresh one from Account → Team — sending a new invite to the same email automatically replaces the old link.

I tried to accept an invite and it says the email already has an account

TokenFront doesn't support one email belonging to two organizations, and invites can't merge two existing accounts together. If the email being invited already has its own separate TokenFront account, email hi@tokenfront.io and we'll help sort it out.

I'm a Member and I don't see billing controls

That's expected — only the Owner can see or change billing (upgrading, canceling, adjusting platform overage). Members see the current plan on their own Account page, just not the controls. Ask your Owner if you need something changed. See Team members.
